In the test the intensity of light beams passing through the body under test is continuously measured and fed into a supervision unit. To view the body being tested, a measuring head is provided and at 45 deg. to the length axis of body a light conductor is placed. Further 3 conductors are provided at 90 deg. from each other whose axes cut the body. These pick-up the spread and reflected light for computing and control. The light conductors are sealed to the measuring head. Bodies can be tested in a container filled with liquid, laser beam being used as light source.
