The tool changer has two tool grips mounted on a tool grip support, whose free ends may be spread apart in the direction of the tool axis in order to hold the tool. The tools are mounted in holders and have a peripheral groove against whose sides the tool grips are opened under pressure. To each tool grip is fitted a fixed curved element against which it is pushed to release the tool when it has been inserted in the working spindle or the magazine.
