摘要
A general purpose digital computer is operated for the prodn. of a 'permeability-p y thickness product (kh)' distribution and a 'porosity-p y thickness product (C/h)' distribution of an underground reservoir, starting from observed pressure data, production history and first approximation to (kh) and (C/h), by (a) representing the reservoir in the computer as an assembly of rectangular cells of varying thickness and introducing into the computer (i) first approximations of (kh) and (C/h) for each lattice cell and (ii) pressure observations if these are known, as well as upper and lower limits for (kh) and (C/h) for each cell; (b) calculating within the computer the pressure in each lattice cell, in which all wells produce according to their known production history, and comparing within the computer the calculated and observed pressures; if the differences are acceptably small, the process is terminated; but if not, is continued by (c) simulating the reservoir within the computer, prodn. only taking place at the L-th observation position in the chamber; (d) calculating and storing within the computer 'flood-in' coefficient for each block present for all observations in the time at the L-th observation position in the chamber and the repetition in the computer of the steps (c, d) for all other observation positions; (e) utilising, within the computer, the stored 'flood-in' coefficients in a linear programme for the prodn. of incremental corrections for (kh) and (C/h) in each block present in such a way that the corrections are limited to maintaining the adjusted values of (kh) and (C/h) within the pre-established limits introduced in step (a); and (f) adjusting the (kh) and (C/h) values within the computer introduced in step (a) by adding the correction to the previously introduced values, and repeating the steps (b) to (f) until step (b) bring the computer to a stop.
