1352610 Electro-optical channel separator THOMSON-CSF 19 April 1971 [18 Feb 1970] 21247/71 Heading G2J [Also in Division G1] In an electro-optical system for extracting the signals pertaining to a single channel from an electrical signal in which signals are multiplexed with interlaced spectral bands and wherein light from a monochromatic source is modulated by the signal S M Fig. 4 in a plate 1 which is mechanically stressed by the signal, spectral sub-bands are extracted from areas of the plate by slots in a diaphragm 4 and are reconstituted by an arrangement including a group of lens spreaders 7, 9, producing contiguous images of the slots in a plane U, and a photo-cell 6 having a slot inlet aperture P. The lenses are cylindrical and a single lens block to cover all the slots is described with reference to Fig. 5 (not shown). A further modification includes a group of holographic lenses between a pair of transparent slots to effect the reconstitution.
