Cellular plasticised PVC materials are prepd. from mixts. of PVC, blowing agents and plasticisers consisting of a combination of monomers with a viscosity of 19-500 cps at 20 degrees C and polymers with a viscosity of 2,000-95,000 at 20 degrees C by heating the mixt. to a temp. above the softening point of the mixt. and above the decomposition point of the blowing agent in a mould initially without a gas compartment, rapidly expanding the internal volume of the mould to 3-35 times the volume of the expansible mass, and allowing the cellular material to cool inside the mould, outside the press. Cellular plasticised PVC articles can be produced at a high rate per unit of time. The articles do not tend to shrink after cooling in the mould.
