The compressed air stream coming forward from the after cooler is caused to deflect through 90 degrees by a series of vertical plates mounted in a vertical cylindrical vessel. The air flows down then turns through 180 degrees and leaves through the top of the vessel. Liquor droplets coalesce on the plates and collect in the base of the vessel from where they can be drained off.
