Rechargeable copper sulphide cell with org. solvent - for salt and poly-sulphide, has semipermeable or cation exchange membrane to prevent sulphide diffusion into anode compartment
Galvanic element has a CuS cathode, alkali(ne earth) anode and an organic solvent (I) as carrier for the electrolyte. For use as sec. element, (I) contains a dissolved polysulphide (II) besides conducting salt (III), whilst the cathode and anode compartments are sepd. by a semipermeable or cation exchanger membrane preventing diffusion of (II) into the anode compartment. Pref. (III) is LiClO4 and (I) is DMF.
