Small feedstuffs pellets embedded in larger pellets - separate prepn. f difficult substances in small pellets and combined with easy components to form large pellets
Feedstuff pellets are prepd by homogeneously embedding small pellets into large ones. The small pellets may contain all or most of the chemically instable, hygroscopic, aggressive, unpalatable or difficult to compress components of the mixt. They are pressed through a matrix with small openings and may contain smaller amts of compression aids, antioxidants, inhibitors etc. These particles are then mixed with the remaining components of the mixt and pressed through a matrix with larger openings. The pellets may be used as feedstuffs for ruminants. They may give slow release of urea and other non-protein N-cpds in the digestive system, are more stable, harder and much more palatable than known pellets contg. the same ingredients.
