1357348 Tape dispensers BETTER PACKAGES (UK) Ltd 24 Nov 1971 [2 Dec 1970] 57320/70 Heading A4G On pressing a start switch 15 associated with a selected electronic pulse counter 14, motor 3 dispenses one of a plurality of selectable lengths of tape 1 from roll 2 between driven roll 6 and pressure roll 7 after solenoid 11 has withdrawn brake 9 from stop cam 8 on roll 6, there also being a counter 12 on roll 6 acting as a cam which, via a contact breaker 13, sends a number of pulses per revolution of roll 6 to the selected counter 14 which, after the tape length is dispensed, de-energizes motor 3 and brake solenoid 11 to stop dispensing, brake 9 actuating switch 22 to energize solenoid 20 actuating tape cutter 17, 18. The dispenser may be programmed to cyclically dispense different lengths of tape or have a repeat switch responsive to removal of dispensed tape length; the pulses produced by magnets on the counter operating a reed switch; the roll 6 driven via gearing 5 and a clutch; and for gummed tape a moistening device may be incorporated.
