1312119 Cloches MONTECATINI EDISON SpA 10 April 1970 [10 April 1969] 17250/70 Heading A1E [Also in Divisions B5 and C3] An anti-fogging transparent or translucent film usable as a cloche is made from a thermoplastic material of a surfactant containing between 0.5 and 5.0 parts by weight per 100 parts of thermoplastic. The thermoplastic is preferably polyvinyl chloride. Tomatoes are grown in greenhouses constructed of this material and compared with others grown in greenhouses constructed of the polyvinyl chloride without the surfactant. The yields are claimed to be higher in the plants grown in greenhouses constructed from film containing the surfactant, and, further, the plants apparently crop earlier and grow faster. This is stated to be caused by the prevention of dew collection on the greenhouse, which dew can reduce the light and infrared passing to the inside.
