1318375 Roofing element CHEMISCHE WERKE WORMS-WEINSHEIM GmbH 27 Aug 1970 [5 Sept 1969 14 Jan 1970] 41350/70 Heading B5N [Also in Division E1] A thermally insulating roofing element comprises a core of rigid or substantially homogenous foam plastics 1, e.g. polyurethane, polystyrene or phenolic resin, a covering foil 2 such as polyvinyl chloride having a mineral coating, e.g. of asbestos fibres on the face in contact with the foam and a backing 3 which may be of bitumen pasteboard, asphalt paper, glass fibre web, aluminium foil or polyvinyl chloride on the other face of the foam. The roofing element may be provided with step-shaped rabbets around its edges 4A, 4B, so that they may be joined by tongue and groove joints, the joints being sealed and welded by an overlap 5 of the covering foil. The exposed face of the backing 3 may be provided with a pressure-sensitive adhesive and the face of the backing in contact with the core may have a layer of plastics e.g. polyethylene, thereon.
