1293464 Lubricants; fuels MOBIL OIL CORP 6 Feb 1970 [7 Feb 1969 15 Dec 1969] 5857/70 Headings C5F and C5G [Also in Division C3] A fuel composition comprises a liquid hydrocarbon boiling in the range of 75‹ to 1000‹ F. and an amount sufficient to impart anti-static properties of a reaction product of: (1) an amic acid of an amine and a copolymer of maleic anhydride and an ethylenically unsaturated hydrocarbon, or (2) an amine salt of (1) and of an amine, with an alkyl vinyl ether/maleic anhydride copolymer. In the examples a liquid hydrocarbon fuel boiling at 320-720‹ F. is used. The anti-static agent is also incorporated into an ink oil (a sulphuric acid treated kerosene), a solvent used as a paint thinner and a textile lubricant (a low viscosity white oil).
