A mould closure appts., esp. for plastics injection moulding machines, has the moving mould plate operated by a hydraulic slide ram for opening/closing and a hydraulic holding ram for applying the holding pressure and initially opening the mould. The holding ram has a short stroke. The appts. comprises the following combined features: =2 eccentrically mounted hydraulic slide rams; direct connection via a control unit between the two chambers of the double-acting slide unit and the two chambers of the double-acting holding unit; the cylinders of the sliding unit and also the control unit are mounted on the sliding mould plate or sliding support plate.
