1,248,498. Stabilizing P.V.C. ARGUS CHEMICAL CORP. 19 Dec., 1969 [3 Jan., 1969], No. 61898/69. Heading C3P. [Also in Division C2] Vinyl resins are stabilized by including a material obtained by reacting a dialkyl tin oxide (C 4 -C 8 alkyl groups) with a dialkyl tin bis (thiolactic or thiomalic acid ester), whose alcohol residue is a C 1 -C 18 alkyl group, at 50-250‹ C. (see Division C2). The material contains 10-35% tin. Vinyl chloride homopolymers and copolymers, which may include plasticizers, can be treated. In an example a 100: 10 polyvinyl chloride-ABS mixture is blended with the stabilizer at 350‹ F.
