1307134 Explosive compositions WASAGCHEMIE GmbH 11 Nov 1970 [13 Nov 1969] 53575/70 Heading C1D A porous inorganic filler of apparent density 0À03 to 0À25 g./c.c. is added to a powdered, semi-plastic, plastic, or slurry explosive in order to reduce the power of the explosive; the filler is a foam glass or foamed silicate product of synthetic origin, for example particles produced according to Specification 1,140,896 or 1,224,030 and may be rendered hydrophobic or hydrophilic for example by treatment with a silicone solution. Examples describe addition of the filler to a plastic explosive containing nitroglycerine, D.N.T. and T.N.T., collodium wool, sawdust, and ammonium nitrate, and to a slurry explosive containing ammonium nitrate, sodium nitrate, aluminium, guar flour, and water; slurries containing T.N.T. may also be rendered porous.
