A compressor gas-turbine combination incorporating a frusto-conical member adapted to be supported around its circumference at one end thereof by a structural part of the compressor and to partially support around its circumference at the other end a turbine inlet volute and stator casing has the initial cone angle and length of the conical member so chosen that expansion or contraction of. the volute and any parts attached thereto is accommodated by a matched variation of the angle and length of the conical member due to the temperature difference between its opposite ends. A conical member 1 has a flange 2 which is connected by structural linkage 4 to a flange 13 bolted to the compressor casing 5 and a flange 3 bolted to the turbine stator casing 6. The turbine inlet volute 7 secured to the casing 6 at 8 is also supported from the compressor casing 5 by a casing 17 and support member 10. The angle and length of the conical member 1 is so selected that the movement of the flange 3 due to temperature differences between the flanges 2, 13 and 3 is equivalent to that of the casing 6.
