777,222. Moulding hollow concrete beams &c. ECROFNIER & PARTNERS, Ltd. Jan. 4, 1955 [Nov. 18, 1953], No. 31946/53. Class 87(2). A hollow concrete beam is formed in a mould comprising side formers 10 and two-part end plates 12, 13, by filling concrete 20 into the mould, having only the lower halves of the end plates in position, from a hopper running along the tops of the side formers which may have the shape of rails as described in Specification 777,223 and then vibrating the concrete by means of a vibrator which may be hurdled over the end plates as described in Specification 777,221. A core 16 which may be described in Specification 723,192 is laid on the concrete and held in position by the upper halves 13 of the end plates having dowels to engage the lower halves. The space between the core and the side formers and the remaining mould space are then successively filled with concrete and vibrated. The vibrator may carry an inclined trailing roller to spew any excess concrete into an adjacent mould.
