[Class 9(i)] A machine for feeding detonator tubes 4 to a detonator carrying-plate 3 has an apertured feed-plate 2 slidable over the carrying-plate between two posi. tions bringing the tapered holes 5 in the feed-plate into or out of alignment with openings 6 in the carrying-plate 3. In addi. tion, means are provided for moving the plates together when the openings are out of alignment tc bring the rows of holes 5 successively beneath a row of inclined guide-tubes 1 from which the detonator tubes 4 drop into the holes 5, successive tubes 4 being caused by their inclination to the vertical to ride over the lips of the tubes already in position in holes 5. When the feedplate is filled with tubes, the supply from the guide-tubes is stopped by a friction bar and the feed-plate is pushed by a ram across the carrying-plate until the openings 5 and 6 are in alignment. The detonator tubes then drop into the carrying-plate and are ready for filling.
