[Class 64 (ii).] Rubber hot-water bottles, pneumatic cushions, water bags, and the like are manufactured by the use of an articulated former of rigid material so shaped that a seamless article is produced, in which opposite sides are connected as permitted by openings through the former. The rubber may be reinforced by pieces or strips of fabric or by fabric with few or no weft threads to permit stretching. The former may be made in three sections 5, 6, 7 held by dowel pins 8 and after the rubber article is formed, the sections may be separated and withdrawn by stretching the neck of the bottle or the like. Openings are made through the former at the junction of its parts, so that openings 4, remain in the finished bottle. These openings may be sealed by applying a piece of rubber and again dipping the former. The former may be adapted to function as an electrode in a process of electrodeposition. In a modification the article may be formed by assembling sheet rubber on the former and moulding.
