401,397. On -and off castors. PHILLIPS, Ltd., A., and PARRY, W. J., Eyre Street, Spring Hill, Birmingham. June 10, 1932, No. 16379. [Class 52 (i).] Bedsteads are provided with a pair of on- and-off castors 4, Fig. 1, each castor being carried by a rod or tube 5 sliding in a vertical tubular member 6, the tubes 5 being each provided with a projection 8, Fig. 2, which operates in a slot 6a, 6b, in the tubular member 6, the two projections 8 being pivotally connected to a coupling rod 9, so that both castors may be operated simultaneously. The slots are shaped as shown, so that the castors move automatically into the " on " position on lifting the bed, and so that the projections pass into the horizontal portions 6b of the slots when the castors touch the floor.
