摘要
Ferro-phosphorus rich in silicon is converted into ferro-phosphorus poor in or free from silicon and having a high phosphorus content by mixing it, preferably in a fluid state, with tricalcium or other raw phosphate, preferably in excess, say about 50 per cent above the theoretical, and fusing in a non-oxidizing atmosphere, for example in an electric furnace. The phosphate is reduced by the silicon, and the free phosphorus formed is partly taken up by the ferro-phosphorus and partly escapes, being condensed or burnt to phosphoric acid. The silica produced forms a slag with the lime. The reaction commences at about 1450 DEG C. and is completed at 1500-1600 DEG C. The product may contain up to 30 per cent of phosphorus.ALSO:Ferro-phosphorus rich in silicon is converted into ferro-phosphorus free from or poor in silicon and having a high phosphorus content by mixing it, preferably in a fluid state, with tricalcium or other raw phosphate, preferably in excess, say about 50 per cent above the theoretical, and fusing in a non-oxidizing atmosphere, for example in an electric furnace.
