Anti-rust paints are formed by heating iron or any of its oxides in air at 750-1100 DEG C., and mixing the product with a binder. Other rust-preventing pigments such as magnetite, zinc or iron oxides, &c. may be included in the paints. Reference has been directed by the Comptroller to Specifications 12568/85, [Class 22, Cements &c.], and 7761/87, [Class 1, Acids, alkalies, &c.].
