Chimney and ventilating- shaft tops. - In chimney &c. tops of the kind comprising an auxiliary tube b mounted on the chimney a and provided with an open topped double frusto-conical member c, d, covered by a hood, the hood f is of the same shape and size as the upper part d of the member c, d and is provided with a closed flat top. The bottom g of the hood is situated either level with, or at a distance not exceeding one quarter or one fifth of the diameter of the tube b, above the outlet h of the member c, d. The tube b may project into the part c of the member c, d, which may be provided with apertures of a total area not greater than the cross-sectional area of the tube b. A baffle of the same shape as the hood may be mounted in the part d.
