Colour kinematography; optical systems.-A method of obtaining two diagonally located pictures arranged as described in Specification 319,195, comprises two reflecting prisms and a single lens, the prisms being arranged so that the rays from the lens are deviated into two paths making an acute angle with one another. In the form described two rhomboidal prisms A, B, Fig. 1 are utilized, each receiving half the incident light, and having their side faces x cut so that the two paths of the rays are at an acute angle with one another. This arrangement of the prisms A, B enables two images to be produced as in Fig. 3, with their centres situated at the points r1, r2. By inclining the edges of the film F relatively to the meeting line X of the prisms, Fig. 5, and masking the images contained in the light circles C1, C2, pictures P1, P2 arranged diagonally on the screen are obtained.
