Rollers and roller-heads.-Coupling means for sections of rollers of preparing and spinning and like machines and for their driving parts, or for shafts, rods, or the like for transmitting motion to or in machines, machine tools, motor-driven vehicles, or for like purposes, comprise a spigot a, Figure 2, on one section c which engages a screw g non-rotatably connected to a socket in the ether section e so that by rotating the sections filler pieces f carried by the screw and engaging a conical or pyramidal part of the spigot are expanded to engage the interior surface of the socket. In the arrangement shown in Figure 20. the spigot v is cylindrical on its outer surface and is split, the screw 1 being formed with a conical part engaging a corresponding part in the spigot so as to expand it. The screw is secured to the socket by means of a bush h which engages a squared or like part thereof and is held in place by a pin 7.
