Selectors and associated switchboard apparatus.-A number of semi-cylindrical terminal banks 10 are clamped between upper and lower transverse girders or strips 13, 14 by means of screw bolts 15, the whole constituting a rigid structure I which serves as a support for the selectors II, Fig. 6. In order to ensure the accurate positioning of each selector shaft relative to its terminal bank, the rectangular frame 20, which carries the selector shaft, operating magnets 22, controlling relays III, &c., is provided with projecting arms 23, 24 which just embrace the member I and are of such a width that they just fit between two adjacent guide members 18, Fig. 2. A spring catch may be provided. The strips 13, 14 extend rearwardly so as to enclose the multipling wires 12 in a box-like member covered by a rear plate 17. Sets of bank structures I may be mounted side by side either horizontally or vertically between outer frame members; and in small exchanges the whole frame may be rotatable about a horizontal or vertical axis.
