Kinematograph apparatus.-Two or more objectives are operatively located opposite to areas on the film which are separated by one or more picture areas; one or more of the objectives may project on to areas upon the whole or part of which an image has been previously projected by another of the objectives, and simultaneously adjustable masks for the image areas may be provided. As shown, the film 12 is fed to and from the gate 13 by sprockets 15, 16 having pressure rollers 17, 18 on pivoted arms 19, 20 urged towards the sprockets by a common spring 21. Objectives 26, 27, of equal or different focal lengths, and provided with separate shutters 33, 34 arranged to produce simultaneous exposures, project on to separated image areas. The film is fed by one set of claws 30, and each image area is exposed twice. Either image area may be wholly covered by a sliding plate 40 having apertures 42, 43. As shown in Fig. 5, neither image area is covered by the plate 40, but the plate may be moved to the left so that the upper image area is covered, or may be moved further to cover the lower image area and free the upper one; finger pieces 41, 45, respectively on the plate 40 and on a pivoted latch 44, are provided to facilitate the adjustment. Means whereby one image area may be partly covered, and only the part of the other area corresponding to such covered part may be uncovered, may be provided. For this purpose, a vertically sliding place 51, Fig. 5, having an aperture 54 and a tongue 53 of corresponding shape, may be moved into position such that these parts do or do not lie over the image areas, by means of a hand-wheel 47, Fig. 1, on a shaft connected by a crank 50 and link 52 to the plate 51. Mirrors or prisms may be provided in conjunction with one or more of the objectives to enable different subjects to be simultaneously photographed. Reference has been directed by the Comptroller to Specifications 10603/97, 10639/12, 196,384, and 197,409.
