Vapour apparatus, arrangements of. - A direct current free from higher harmonics is obtained from a rectifier G by inserting a transformer T2 in the directcurrent circuit, the arrangement being such that the secondary voltage of the transformer has the same frequency and amplitude as the higher harmonic component of the rectifier voltage, but is of opposite sign. The primary winding Pz of this transformer is connected between the cathode K and the neutral point O of the main transformer T feeding the rectifier, a condenser C being preferably included in the primary circuit to prevent the flow of direct current through it. The secondary winding Qz of the transformer Tz is in series with the direct-current mains g, h. Instead of the condenser, a directcurrent consuming device, such as a compensated series motor, may be connected in the primary circuit.
