Self-driving machines.-Relates to a self-driving machine in which a spring 7 is put under tension by means of a lever 8 and the tension is transferred through rods 6, 11, 12, 14 to a beam 15 and thence to a connecting-rod 17 and crank 18. It is stated that the parts having passed beyond the dead-centre under the influence of a fly-wheel 4, a cam 19 forces a disc 26 downwards and thereby, through the action of the system of rods shown in the Figure, returns the spring 7 to its original degree of tension, when the cycle of operations is repeated.
