Indicating leaks.-Relates to alarm devices of the type comprising a light balanced pivoted member provided with vanes which are adapted to be impinged upon by air &c. currents, thus causing the pivoted member to close an electric alarm circuit. As shown in sectional plan in Fig. 3, a vane a provided at its edges with inclined planes d, e is secured to the end of a rod b, which is counterweighted at c and is carried by vertical axle f mounted in antifriction bearings. The rod b carries a fingerpiece m terminating in a knob n, which, when the rod b turns on its pivot, presses one of two adjustable spring plates o, o1 into contact with one of two screws p, p1, thus causing a current to pass from a wire 1 through the plate o or o', the screw p or p', and wires 2 to an alarm.
