Games of chance and skill, apparatus for ; coinaction actuating-mechanism.-The coin is projected by a trigger and drops down one of a number of shoots, which conduct it to close the circuit of an induction coil, and subsequently deliver it into a receptacle or return it to the player. A plate b, upon the back of which the mechanism is mounted, is set a little distance behind a glass pane in the front of the casing, so as leave a space which is bounded by the coin-guide-way h, an arch x, a side piece d, and a bottom ledge w inclined towards the coinguideway. When the coin is inserted through the slot g in the front of the casing, it drops to the bottom of the guide-way h and rests upon the projecting or shooting lever i. Then the player depresses or turns an external trigger, and, on releasing it, the lever i projects the coin out of the guideway h into the space between the pane c and the backing d, whereupon, depending on the skill of the player, it either passes into one of three fixed shoots 4, 5, 6 or it falls on to the inclined ledge w and returns to the guideway through the slot g to be projected again. Assuming the coin is shot into one of the shoot3 4, 5, 6, it falls through into the divided pivoted shoot 8, Fig. 6, where it bears upon the free end 15 of the bifurcated lever 16, thus releasing the two arms 17, 20 thereof from engagement with the flyer 18 of the clockwork 19 and with the notch 21 in the conducting-disc 22 in the electric circuit. Consequently, the clockwork 19 commences to revolve, and the disc 22 comes into contact with the spring contact 23. The electric circuit being thereby closed, the player grips the handles 32, 33 to receive the electricity. Coin discharging-mechanism.-As the disc 22 revolves so does the cam-ring 29, which, through its rod 31, first pushes the hinged shoot 8 backwards, thereby releasing the coin, which, if it entered one of the lateral shoots 4, 6, falls through the shoot 14 to the bottom of a box or case for collection. Returning coin.-If the coin entered through the central shoot 5, it is returned, through the subjacent shoot 12 and slot 13, to the player as a prize for his skill in projecting the coin into the central shoot 5. In due course, the notch 21 in the conducting disc 22 is again engaged by the arm 20 of the bifurcated lever 16 and the other arm 17 comes into contact with the flyer 18 of the clockwork 19, whereupon the apparatus is stopped, and is ready to receive the next coin.
