Dynamometers.- In an apparatus for testing a person's lifting power, pressure is transmitted to the platform e of a coin - freed weighing - machine by the foot v of a rack-bar s, guided by rollers u and engaging a pinion r on a shaft o, mounted in the hollow foot l of a tube k. This tube forms part of a frame h, pivoted to the column a, and in it slides a toothed lifting-tube m to which a handle y is screwed. Foot-plates i are provided on each side of the platform frame.
