Yarns, sizing and dressing.-Warp yarns &c. are treated with mercerizing or other liquors in an apparatus comprising a liquor vat A and washing-vat M, the former containing a removable frame B supporting series of superposed flanged rollers D, D', and the latter an upper series of rollers N and a lower series N'. The yarns &c. P pass between feed-rollers G, then in an approximately horizontal direction over the rollers D, D', between feed or squeezing-rollers H, then in a nearly vertical direction over the rollers N, N', and finally between squeezing-rollers H1. All the rollers are driven by bevel, chain, or other gearing from the main shaft K.
