An emotional scoring apparatus and method for psychological counseling are provided. The disclosed apparatus includes: a negative word database for storing negative words and a weight of each negative word; A positive word database storing the positive words and a weight of each positive word; A negative word detection unit for detecting the number of negative words and a weight of each negative word in each sentence forming a conversation using the negative word database; A positive word detection unit for detecting the number of positive words and a weight of each positive word in each sentence constituting a conversation using the positive word database; A neutral word detection unit that detects the number of neutral words and the length of a sentence in a sentence forming a conversation; The negative word score, the positive word score, and the neutral word score of each sentence are calculated using the detection results of the negative word detection unit, the positive word detection unit, and the neutral word detection unit, and the positive word score and the neutral word score are subtracted from the negative word score. A sentence score calculating unit that calculates a sentence score; And an emotion score calculation unit that calculates an emotion score by summing the scores of each sentence calculated by the sentence score calculation unit.
