Disclosed are systems, apparatus and methods for implementing data recovery techniques for lossy wireless links.The transmitter is configured to encode a video stream and wirelessly transmit the encoded video stream to the receiver, and the video stream represents a virtual reality (VR) rendering environment.The transmitter divides the video stream into a plurality of sub stream components based on frequency.The motion vector parameter is calculated for the substream component of the minimum frequency of the video stream only and the low MCS level is used to transmit these motion vector parameters to the receiver.If the receiver receives a motion vector parameter but does not receive the minimum frequency component of a predetermined chunk, the receiver uses motion vector parameters to extrapolate from the corresponding chunk of the previous video frame to the lowest frequency component of a predetermined chunk Reconfigure.Diagram
