PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve the gasification rate of an object to be treated. SOLUTION: A rotary tubular portion 21 of a gasification device 1 has a tubular shape centered on a central axis J1, and a supply port 211 is provided at one end in a direction parallel to the central axis J1 and the other. A discharge port 212 is provided at the end on the side. Inside the rotary tubular portion 21, a thermal decomposition portion 4, an intermediate limiting portion 25, and a reforming portion 5 are provided in this order from the supply port 211 toward the discharge port 212. The pyrolysis unit 4 generates a pyrolysis gas and char by heating the object to be processed supplied from the supply port 211. The reforming unit 5 generates a reforming gas by reforming the pyrolysis gas and char sent from the pyrolysis unit 4. The intermediate limiting section 25 limits the movement of the char between the pyrolysis section 4 and the modifying section 5. As a result, the residence time of the char in the thermal decomposition section 4 can be lengthened, and the gasification rate of the object to be treated can be improved. [Selection diagram] Fig. 1
