PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for designing a tread molding die and the like capable of determining a segment division position in a short time. SOLUTION: This is a method for designing an annular tread molding die for molding a tread pattern of a tire. In the tread molding die, a molding surface for molding the tread pattern is formed by arranging a plurality of segments divided in the tire circumferential direction. The method is a step S1 for determining a division candidate position for each of a plurality of types of pattern constituent units, and a first method of arranging the plurality of types of pattern constituent units in the tire circumferential direction to specify the arrangement of the division candidate positions in the tire circumferential direction. A step S2 for obtaining one array, and a step S3 for obtaining a second array for specifying the arrangement of the segment-dividable region in the tire circumferential direction based on a segment-dividable region predetermined for the tread molding mold, and the first step. A step S4 of determining a third arrangement that specifies the arrangement of the segment division positions in the tire circumferential direction based on the arrangement and the second arrangement is included.
