PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for adjusting the characteristics of a cell culture expressing a protein of interest. A method of controlling a high mannose-type glycoform content of a recombinant protein during a mammalian cell culture process, in which a host cell is transfected to overexpress a protein involved in the N-glycosylation pathway. The proteins involved in the N-glycosylation pathway include N-acetyl-glucosamine transferase-1 (encoded by Mgat1); N-acetyl-glucosamine transferase-2 (encoded by Mgat2); A method selected from the group consisting of UDP-galactose transporters encoded by Slc35a2; and combinations thereof.
