To provide a near-infrared sensitive video camera.SOLUTION: There is provided a near-infrared sensitive video camera 100 which comprises a control unit (120) configured to dynamically detect a setting of the camera and sets one or more of a zoom level, a focus setting, and a setting of an IR-illuminator (110) of the camera. The control unit (120) dynamically acquires a gain setting map for an image sensor (106) of the camera, the gain setting map including individual gain settings for pixels or group of pixels of the image sensor (106). Dynamically acquiring the gain setting comprises: accessing a database comprising gain setting maps associated with specific settings of the camera; and dynamically adjusting a gain setting of pixels or group of pixels of the image sensor (106) based on the acquired gain setting map. In addition, there are provided a method of reducing an artifact in an image acquired by a camera, and a method of determining gain setting maps for an image sensor of a camera.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1
