This disclosure is provided by an airbag assembly with disc release. An assembly for a vehicle includes an interior component and a plate that can be rotated with the interior component. The assembly includes a control element designed to rotate the plate relative to the inner component. A sheet extends from the inner component to the plate. An airbag is supported by the inner component and can be inflated in an inflatable position adjacent to the sheet.
