Certain exemplary designs of this invention refer to coated products with a metal-containing layer, coatings with a metal-containing layer, and/or processes for making it. Metal-containing coatings can be used, for example, in low-emission applications, which ensures more effective colour reproduction, low angle-dependent colour reproduction and/or high light-to-solar gain. The metal material may be a precious metal or other material,and the layer can organise itself due to the surface tension associated with the precious metal or other material, the material being selected for use as a matrix. An Ag-based metal layer can be provided under a multitude of continuous and continuous layers (e.g. 2, 3 or more) comprising in certain exemplary Ag designs. In certain exemplary designs, barrier layers comprising TiZrOx may be provided between adjacent layers comprising Ag as the bottom layer in a low-E coating and/or as the top layer in a low-E layer.
