PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a container-packed green tea fully improved in stability of green color after heat sterilization and its production method while keeping preferable flavor as a container-packed green tea.SOLUTION: The production method of a container-packed green tea comprises: a step A for preparing a green tea liquid preparation containing ground green tea leaves with a final concentration weight of 0.01-0.4 wt.% in the container-packed green tea drink, ascorbic acid and/or ascorbic acid compounds, water, and alkali of pH 7.5-9.0; and a step B for obtaining the container-packed green tea drink by filling the green tea liquid preparation into a container and performing heat sterilization. The steps A and B increase, to 4 or more, a concentration of chlorophyll ratio (μg/mL) with respect to turbidity (OD), which is represented by an absorbance in the 660 nm of the container-packed green tea drink, and adjust pH of the container-packed green tea drink to 7.0-8.0.SELECTED DRAWING: None
