The invention relates to a method for producing a material panel (6), comprising the following steps: producing a pressed material mat (1) on a shaped strip (10), wherein the pressed material mat (1), transversely to the direction of production (9), has at least one main material (2) optionally with the addition of a binding agent, transferring the pressed material mat (1) into a press (14), preferably a continuously operating press (14), and pressing the compressed-material mat (1) under pressure and/or heat to form a pressed plate (5), which is trimmed after the pressing of a material panel (6). The invention is characterized in that the pressed material mat (1) further comprises an auxiliary material (3) which is applied in the direction of production (9) in addition to the main material (2), and the auxiliary material (3) after pressing by the pressed plate (5) is at least partially, preferably completely, separated and the main material (2) forms the material panel (6). The invention further relates to a system (20) for producing material panels (6) and to a pressed material mat (1).
