A co-prime array two-dimensional direction of arrival estimation method based on structured virtual domain tensor signal processing, primarily solving the problem in existing methods of loss of multi-dimensional spatial structure information and loss of degrees of freedom. The implementation steps of the method are: constructing a co-prime array; tensor modeling of a co-prime array reception signal; deriving a co-prime array virtual domain second-order equivalent signal based on a tensor signal mutual correlation statistic transformation; constructing a co-prime array virtual domain three-dimensional tensor signal; constructing a five-dimensional virtual domain tensor on the basis of a virtual domain tensor dimension expansion strategy; forming a structured virtual domain tensor containing three-dimensional spatial information; and by means of structured virtual domain tensor CANDECOMP/PARAFAC decomposition, obtaining a two-dimensional direction of arrival estimation. In the present method, a structured virtual domain tensor signal processing framework is constructed on the basis of statistical analysis on co-prime array tensor signals. Mutli-source two-dimensional direction of arrival estimation in underdetermined conditions is implemented, while ensuring resolution and estimation accuracy performance. The method can be used in multi-target localization.
