PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To simplify the installation work of a lightning strike suppression type lightning protection device and reduce the installation cost by converting an existing lightning rod type lightning rod protection device into a lightning strike suppression type lightning protection device. SOLUTION: This is a lightning rod suppression type lightning rod which is a conversion of a lightning rod type lightning rod, and the lightning rod type lightning rod includes a lightning rod 2 installed at a high place and a demon twisted wire 4 for grounding the lightning rod to the ground. A lightning rod suppression type lightning rod is provided with a first electrode 6 formed of a conductive material and a second electrode 8 formed of the conductive material so as to face the first electrode with an electrical insulator 7 interposed therebetween. The demon twisted wire is divided into two parts, a lightning rod side and a ground side, and the demon twisted wire 4a on the lightning rod side is electrically connected to the first electrode, and the demon twisted wire 4b on the ground side is the first.
