PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To exhibit colloidal noble metal nanoparticles having a high noble metal concentration, free of halides, alkali metals and alkaline earth metals and sulfur, for use as a catalyst, and exhibiting high stability in which the particles are dispersed in a solvent. It contains a stabilizer and a reducing agent and has a nanoparticle concentration of at least about 2% by weight of the colloidal dispersion, where the nanoparticles have an average particle size of about 1 nm to about 6 nm.
