Disclosed are a transcritical carbon dioxide refrigeration method and device. The method comprises: (1) performing primary compression and primary cooling on superheated carbon dioxide steam under pressure; (2) performing secondary compression and secondary cooling on subcritical carbon dioxide; (3) cooling the supercritical carbon dioxide again and then throttling same into low-temperature subcritical carbon dioxide; (4) feeding the throttled low-temperature subcritical carbon dioxide into an evaporation tank and evaporating same into high-temperature, low-pressure carbon dioxide gas; and (5) enabling the high-temperature, low-pressure carbon dioxide gas to absorb heat and be converted into superheated carbon dioxide steam, and feeding same into a first compressor for pressurization for cyclic utilization. According to the transcritical carbon dioxide refrigeration method and device, an expansion machine is used for recovering and outputting mechanical energy to drive the compressor to complete compression, double compressors are used for improving the compression performance of the supercritical carbon dioxide, and double gas coolers and an internal heat regenerator are used for cooling the carbon dioxide gas, thereby improving the circulation energy efficiency of carbon dioxide.
