Storage device contains: a non-volatile memory containing a first and a second area, a memory controller that controls the operation of the non-volatile memory, and a buffer memory connected to the memory controller. The memory controller stores user data received from a host device in the second area, stores metadata associated with the management of the user data and generated from a file system of the host device in the first area,In response to an address information for an index node (Inode) assigned to the metadata, loads the metadata from the first area into the buffer memory and, using the metadata loaded into the buffer storage, accesses the target data in the second area.
