A perceptual-cognitive training system and method for the assessment of reactive agility in atheletes when faced with different scenarios, comprising the assessment of the reactive agility of an athlete by means of a platform whereon the athlete moves during perceptual-cognitive training, a screen displaying a sequence of visual stimuli to the athlete , to which said athlete must react by performing certain actions, a camera which, by means of vision algorithms, is able to detect and record the position of the steps of the athlete during the perceptual-cognitive training, and a controller that uses the data captured by the camera (3) to determine the response times of the athlete and to establish the visual stimuli and the characteristics that constitute a sequence of the learning and the perceptual-cognitive training, synchronising the acquisition of data with the video processing in real time.
