The present invention relates to a method for regulating the extracellular secretory ability of a homeoprotein and to a homeoprotein variant having regulated extracellular secretion using the same. It relates to a method for increasing or decreasing a homeoprotein or a homeoprotein that increases or decreases the extracellular secretory ability through the hydrophobic increase or decrease of an amino acid sequence outside the homeo domain. The present inventors first identified that the presence of a hydrophobic amino acid sequence outside the homeo domain as well as the homeo domain itself as a factor affecting the extracellular secretion ability of the homeoprotein is related, and cultured by substituting the sequence of the hydrophobic amino acid. It was confirmed that homeoproteins with increased or decreased extracellular secretion ability can be induced in cells and tissues in vivo. Through a study on the secretion mechanism of homeoproteins, various intracellular proteins that do not contain secretion markers are secreted. It is expected that it will be useful to increase understanding of the path.
